Just wanted to show you all a picture of my daughter Lucy with Knickerbocker; having never gotten to the Lawrence stables, I made up for it with many days spent in stables as a "Horse Mom."
Great photo, Wendy. You are mastering the art of posting fast. Our daughter, Livia, (turning 13 on Saturday) is also a horse person, though you are on the right track to think about connecting with John's sister Mary Ellen, who has actually entered this world as a business.
Can you imagine jumping side-saddle, as Mrs. L did? If Wendy won't brag, I will: her daughter Lucy won a scholarship for horse riding to a Div I school, SMU! So there is hope, Shelley, all that money going into horse-riding might pay off!
It was a more innocent place and time in America—a dead-end street surrounded by fields and woods where a gang of kids ran free. Fifty years later, members of that gang have reconnected and are sharing their memories on this group blog. This version of the Green Valley Gazette is a successor to a mimeographed newsletter by the same name that some of the kids put together back then.
The Gang
Bill Little Dan Ruby David Seidel Ellen Little Joanne Ruby John Chesley Linda Herman Meagan Beale Nancy Thompson Snyder Shelley Chesley Tom Thompson Walter Ruby Wendy Needham
Any other former residents of Green Valley Drive and their friends are invited to join the gang. Contact Nancy to get involved.
